Represent Law has obtained £5,742.30 in an out of court settlement of a deposit protection claim for 4 students in Oxford.
The tenants rented a property in Oxford and their deposit was incorrectly registered with the deposit protection scheme. Accordingly, at the end of their tenancy they were unable to use the deposit protection scheme to dispute deductions to their deposit. After contacting Represent Law, the deposit protection claim was discovered and court proceedings were subsequently issued. Following service of the claim, the letting agent agreed to settle the claim for £2,942.30 in respect of the deposit protection penalty and £2,800 for costs. This is another excellent result and we are delighted to have helped the tenants obtain justice. If you have been in a similar position, see if you can make a claim against your landlord for failing to protection your deposit.
